What is the price of a Maine Coon kitten?

During your research, you will find that there is a wide range of prices for adopting a purebred Maine Coon. These differences are mainly due to the quality of the bloodlines, the care given to the kittens, the inclusions offered, and the guarantees provided, which vary from one breeder to another.

At our cattery, the price of our kittens is between $2,500 and $3,500.

This amount includes many essential services: sterilization, two sets of vaccinations, two deworming treatments, a one-year health guarantee covering hereditary and congenital diseases, as well as a two-week guarantee for viral and bacterial infections.

Your kitten is also registered with TICA, and we transparently provide you with proof of the health tests performed on its parents. Everything is in place to offer you a confident and stress-free adoption. 🐾

What is the weight of an adult Maine Coon?

The Maine Coon is known for its large size, but each cat remains unique and develops at its own pace. In adulthood, generally around 3 to 4 years of age, weight varies according to sex.

Females weigh on average between 4.5 kg and 6.5 kg (10 to 14 lb), while males are generally larger, with an average weight between 6.5 kg and 9 kg (14 to 20 lb), sometimes more depending on lineage, morphology and lifestyle.

It's important to remember that size and weight aren't indicators of quality. A healthy Maine Coon is first and foremost a well-proportioned, muscular, and active cat, regardless of its size. 🐾💛

What is the purpose of registering on the waiting list?

Do Maine Coons get along well with the animals we already have in our family?

Yes, all our Maine Coon kittens grow up in our home alongside other cats and dogs. This early socialization generally makes their adaptation easier and promotes better relationships with the pets already in your home.

That said, since each animal has its own rhythm, we always recommend a gradual integration to ensure a smooth encounter and harmonious cohabitation.

To help you, we invite you to consult our blog post dedicated to this topic. 🐾💛

What health tests are performed on the parents of your kittens?

All our breeding animals are rigorously DNA tested, including screening for over 50 genetic health conditions. Each new breeding animal also undergoes FIV/FeLV testing before joining our breeding program.

At one year of age, our breeding stock undergoes thorough examinations, including hip x-rays and a cardiac ultrasound, to confirm that they fully meet the health criteria required for reproduction.

For the sake of transparency, all evidence of these tests will be presented to you during your in-person visit, when you confirm your kitten selection. 🐾💛

Do you have any blue-eyed kittens?

No, we don't have any blue-eyed breeding cats. This means our kittens will have eyes in shades of gold or green.

There are primarily three ways to obtain a Maine Coon with blue eyes:

• The presence of a large amount of white in the coat (a completely white cat or one with 50% or more white, including the face). These cats are recognized by feline associations. However, we do not have breeding cats with this much white in their coats, which explains the absence of blue eyes in our bloodlines.

• Crossbreeding with another blue-eyed breed. This practice does not align with our vision of breeding and is not considered ethical according to our values.

• The transmission of Waardenburg syndrome, a genetic syndrome that can lead to serious health problems, including risks of deafness and sudden death. It is unthinkable for us to work with breeding animals carrying this gene.

The health, well-being, and longevity of our cats always take precedence over aesthetic criteria. That's why we deliberately choose to avoid blue-eyed lines. 🐾💛
